THE PROGRAM
Two exceptional concerts in one evening:
Mozart's Requiem & Palmeri's Misatango
On November 22 and 23, 2024, at 8:15 PM, discover two musical masterpieces performed in the majestic Saint-Jean-Berchmans Church, College St. Michel in Etterbeek.
Mozart's Requiem, in a unique version arranged for two pianos, timpani, soloists, and choir, will be presented as completed by the renowned musicologist Robert Levin. This rare performance brings talented artists together to revisit this timeless masterpiece. An exceptional musical experience that promises to captivate the audience with its power and emotion.
How was the Requiem completed, and how would Mozart have finished it if he had lived? These mysteries have fascinated musicians for over two centuries.

The Misatango will be performed for the first time in Belgium, along with a recently composed Ouverture and Offertory. Martín Palmeri himself will play the piano part, accompanied by bandoneonist Gerardo Agnese, soprano Rita Matos Alves, and the 10-string ensemble Musical Evasion, all under the artistic direction of Laëndi.
The Misatango was created in Buenos Aires on August 17, 1996. This work is a tribute to choirs and tango, born from my experience as a choir director, pianist, and tango arranger.
